How to play

2. Each tile turns green, yellow or grey to show how close the letter is.
3. Use the clues to find the word within six tries, then share your result without spoilers.

What the colours mean

• Green: the letter is in the word and in the right place.
• Yellow: the letter is in the word, but in another place.
• Grey: the letter is not in the word, or the word has fewer copies of it.

Every language has its own word list and its own word of the day. Korean uses the 26 basic jamo letters, and in German umlauts count as A, O and U.

When does the word change?

A new word appears every day at 00:00 UTC, the same moment for everyone in the same language.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play right away; a free guest profile is created when you make your first guess so your streak and result are saved.

Can I play with friends?

The daily puzzle is solo, but you can share your result as coloured squares without revealing any letters, or race friends on the same word game in a room.
