How to play Naval Battle online
The map is a 10×10 open sea. The lower half is your fleet's waters, the upper half is the fog-covered enemy waters. No one can cross the central border line — you fire upward from below.
- Deployment: place your 4 ships horizontally or vertically in your lower waters. Valid spots show green, overlapping spots show red.
- Turn-based: one ship acts per turn. If you like you maneuver first, then either fire once or use one ability.
- Turn passing: after firing or using an ability, the turn passes to your opponent even on a hit.
Maneuvering and firing by ship type
Maneuvering is the heart of this game. When you pick a ship you can move it forward and back along its axis; but as a ship takes damage its range drops. The firing pattern also depends on the ship type, so which ship you fire with is critical. Because ships move, even firing at the same square again can be smart.
Special abilities: use your ships wisely
Every ship has a special ability on cooldown, and using it at the right moment turns the match:
- Carrier — Air Strike: a wide 3×3 aerial bombardment.
- Battleship — Heavy Bombardment: a devastating 2×2 salvo.
- Cruiser — Cross Salvo: hits 5 cells in a plus shape.
- Destroyer — Torpedo Run: sends a line torpedo along a column.
You preview the ability target first, then confirm, so you never waste a shot. Whoever sinks all of the opponent's ships wins. Ready? Play Naval Battle free now and rule the seas!
