Warfront is a tactical war game won by smart decisions, not fast reflexes. On an 11×14 map you train soldiers, conquer villages and try to seize the enemy headquarters. Damage is fully deterministic — there's no luck, and you see the estimate before you attack. With the tactics in this guide, you'll beat your opponent with your wits.
The unit counter chain
The heart of Warfront is a rock-paper-scissors-style dominance chain. Sending the wrong unit at the wrong target can melt even a strong army:
- The Swordsman crushes the spearman; the Spearman is strong against cavalry and the griffon.
- The Cavalry hunts archers and catapults; charging 3+ squares lands a critical hit — use the distance.
- The Archer is good against fliers; the Dragon burns ground units but the Griffon hunts the dragon and the catapult.
Read the damage estimate before you attack; wait for the right counter instead of making a bad trade.
Economy and village control
Matches are often won in the economy, not on the front line. Income is paid at the start of each turn: a base income plus gold per village. That makes villages the most valuable resource in the game.
- Conquer villages early — each one earns gold every turn and heals the unit standing on it.
- Only foot units can conquer a village; conquest speed depends on the unit's health, so send healthy units.
- Army upkeep eats into your income; instead of stacking endlessly, build a mobile army sized to your economy.
- A unit that starts its turn on your own building heals — pull damaged units back to recover.
Conquer the HQ: the road to victory
The fastest way to win is to conquer the enemy headquarters — that's an instant win. But don't attack blindly: first build pressure that melts the enemy's defensive units with counters, then slip a foot unit into the HQ. You also win if all of the enemy's units and production buildings are gone. If time runs out, score decides it: army + buildings + gold, so even in the late game your economic edge carries you.
