Wildhaven
Wildhaven is a free browser wildlife-sanctuary builder — no download, no setup. Each turn you do exactly ONE thing: take food dice from the feeder, lay eggs, draw cards, or place a creature into your woodland, meadow or wetland. The trick is the chain: every creature you add makes that row's reward better AND lengthens the run of creatures that trigger, right to left, when you take its action. Four seasons, a shared goal at the end of each, and one secret objective per player. 2–4 players, with bots or with friends.
Spring
Rules
- 2–4 players; four seasons of 8, 7, 6 and 5 turns each
- One action a turn: take a row's action, or place a creature
- WOODLAND gives food · MEADOW gives eggs · WETLAND gives cards
- Taking a row's action then triggers its creatures RIGHT TO LEFT
- Every creature improves the row's reward AND lengthens the chain
- Placing costs food; the 2nd, 3rd and 4th slots also cost eggs
- The feeder holds five dice and is rerolled whenever it empties
- Power colours: brown (triggered) · teal (on play) · yellow (season end) · pink (on a rival's turn)
- Hunters flip the top card; a small enough catch tucks under them for 1 point
- One shared goal is scored at the end of each season, by ranking
- At setup you keep five things from five cards and five food, plus one of two secret objectives
- Score: creature points + eggs + stored food + tucked cards + goals + your objective
How to play
- You open with five cards and five food — keep any five things between them
- Pick one of two secret objectives; only that one scores at the end
- On your turn either tap a ROW BANNER, or pick a card and tap a glowing slot
- The banner prints what you will get and how many creatures will fire
- When a choice is needed the prompt bar opens — or press "Auto" if you are in a hurry
Building the chain
- Stack creatures into the same row: four creatures fire four powers on one tap
- The right-hand slots cost eggs, but they fire FIRST in the chain
- Yellow powers fire free at every season end — played early they pay four times
- Pink powers hand you food, cards or eggs on your rivals' turns
- If unaffordable cards pile up, take the woodland instead of the wetland
Where points come from
- Creature points run 0–9; the big ones cost more and hold fewer eggs
- Every egg is a point — a long meadow row is a quiet, powerful plan
- Stored food and tucked cards are worth a point each as well
- All four season goals are visible from turn one; second place still scores
- Ties are broken by the food and cards you still hold
Looking for a Wingspan alternative?
Wildhaven is a free in-browser take on the bird-themed engine builder: gather food, lay eggs, draw cards and line your creatures up across three habitats. No download, no account required, no box to set up — open a room, add a bot or invite a friend, and your first creature is thirty seconds away.
It keeps the genre's best moment intact: taking a row's action triggers every creature in that row, one after another, right to left. By the fourth season a single tap wakes six creatures in sequence, each with its own call — the best twenty seconds at the table.
One tap, a long chain
There is exactly one action per turn, which makes it easy to play on a phone — but how big that action is was decided by the last ten turns. That is the whole tension: score now, or make the chain longer?
Ninety-six creatures, thirty-one distinct powers, twenty-one secret objectives and sixteen season goals mean no two matches look alike. Three season themes (spring, autumn, twilight) change both the palette and the generative score playing quietly underneath.
