- Miss 3 turns in a row and the next player gets 2 moves
- Whoever finds the most mines wins
How to play
- Take turns tapping a covered cell
- A mine plants your flag, scores +1 and keeps the turn
- Clear ground opens and passes the turn on
- Numbers count the mines in the 8 neighbouring cells
- When no mine is left, the highest score wins
The fields
- Open Field — the classic board, mines anywhere
- Canyon — rock ridges split the ground into lanes and mines lean on the rock
- Quarry — many small pockets; mines never touch, the thinking board
- Crossroads — a rock cross makes four equal quarters and the mines are MIRRORED (the crossing is always clear)
- Hot Zone — mostly clean ground with a few dense pockets; the lowest mine density of the five (16.5%), so a tap into dead ground tells you nothing while finding a pocket is worth several flags at once
- The fields are TALL: they fill a phone whole, so the cells stay big
- The field grows with three players; rock never opens and holds no mine
Square Bomb
- Unlocks when you fall 5 points behind the leader
- Once per match: pick a target, tap the same cell again to confirm
- Every mine in the 3x3 is yours and the turn continues
Bonus move
- Miss three turns in a row and the NEXT player gets two moves
- Finding a mine resets your miss counter
- It can trigger any number of times in a match
Symbols
- The flag colour says who found it — every seat has its own
- Your own claims carry a thin white rim on the ground
- A mine nobody found is lit in gold at the end
- Rock never opens, never holds a mine, and stops the cascade
- Numbers count the mines in the 8 cells around
- ⚡ The yellow pips beside a player are their miss streak; at three, the NEXT player gets 2 moves
Online Minesweeper — 2-3 Players
The competitive take on minesweeper: two or three players share ONE field and hunt the hidden mines in turns. Plant a flag on a mine and you score +1 and KEEP the turn; open clear ground and the turn passes to the next player. Completely free, nothing to download — it runs in the browser and on a phone.
Choose from five fields — Open Field, Canyon, Quarry, Crossroads and Hot Zone — each with its own rock layout and its own way of hiding mines. They are tall boards, so on a phone the field fills the screen and the cells stay thumb-sized. Open a private room for friends, join an open table, or warm up against bots at three difficulty levels.
Minesweeper Strategy: Read the Numbers, Manage the Risk
Every revealed number tells you how many neighboring cells hide a mine, and classic patterns such as 1-2-1 pinpoint mines with certainty — flag those first. Your opponent's turns are free information too: every cell they open narrows down where the remaining mines can be.
In versus Minesweeper a wrong flag is worse than a wasted move — it hands the board to your opponent. When nothing is certain, prefer moves that reveal information over pure coin flips, and count the remaining mines before you gamble.
Square Bombing and Bonus Moves — Built-in Comebacks
Falling behind is not the end. When the score gap reaches 5, the trailing player unlocks a one-time 3×3 Square Bombing that sweeps nine cells in a single strike — save it for the densest cluster you can identify.
And if your opponent opens empty cells three times in a row, you earn a double move on your next turn. These comeback rules keep every match tense until the very last mine is flagged.
