Word Duel
Everyone hunts the same hidden five-letter word at the same time: six guesses, a colour clue per letter. You watch your rivals' grids fill with colour but never see their letters. The first solve starts a closing countdown; solving in fewer guesses, faster, earns the points. 2–6 players, with bots and friends.
Word
Rules
- 2–6 players; everyone hunts the SAME hidden five-letter word at the same time — no waiting for a turn
- Each player has six guesses; after every guess the letters colour: green = right letter, right place · amber = in the word, elsewhere · grey = not in the word (a letter typed more times than the word holds turns its extra copies grey with an amber corner dot: in the word, just not that many times)
- A guess must be a real word in the room's word language (no proper nouns); a word not on the list costs no guess. The word language is a room option — it defaults to your interface language
- You watch rivals' grids fill with colour live but never see their letters — you can tell who is close, not what the word is
- A round ends when everyone has solved or run out; the first solve starts a 20-second CLOSING countdown, and the round clock (1:30 / 2:00 / 2:30 / 3:00, a room option) ends it too
- Points: 60 for solving in 1 guess, 50 in 2, 40 in 3, 30 in 4, 20 in 5, 10 in 6; +15 to the first solver, +10 to the second, +5 to the third; 0 if unsolved
- Room option: 1, 3 or 5 rounds; the highest total wins, a tie is a draw
- If your connection drops: at a two-player table your opponent wins the match (or carries on against a bot) unless you are back within 30 seconds; at a bigger table a bot plays your seat after 2 minutes and you take it back when you return
How to Play
- Type a five-letter word on the keys and press Enter — it must be a real word
- Green is in place, amber is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in the word; a grey tile with an amber dot is in the word, just not that many times
- Your keyboard colours too: never retry a grey letter
- Rivals' rows colour in as they guess, so you see who is close
Points & Tactics
- Fewer guesses, more points: 60 for 1 guess, 10 for 6
- Speed bonus for the first three solvers: +15 / +10 / +5
- Open with a vowel-rich word
- The first solve starts the closing countdown — the rest get 20 seconds, hurry
Multiplayer Word Guessing — Same Word, Same Moment
Word Duel is a free, 2–6 player word guessing game you play in the browser: everyone hunts the same hidden five-letter word at the same time. Six guesses each; after every guess the letters colour, and your rivals' grids fill with colour in front of you — you never see their letters, but you can tell who is closing in. No download, no sign-up required; play against bots or friends right away.
Solving in fewer guesses earns more points and the first three solvers take a speed bonus. Matches of 1, 3 or 5 rounds with round clocks of 1:30, 2:00, 2:30 or 3:00. The word list follows the room's word language and has no proper nouns; the Turkish list is everyday vocabulary in standard spelling.
Rules and Scoring
Green means the letter is in place, amber that it is in the word elsewhere, grey that it is not in the word. Type a letter more times than the word holds and the extra copies turn grey with an amber corner dot. A word not on the list costs no guess. The first player to solve starts a 20-second closing countdown; when it runs out the round closes for everyone and the word is revealed.
Scoring by guess count: 60 points for 1 guess, 50 for 2, 40 for 3, 30 for 4, 20 for 5, 10 for 6. +15 to the first solver, +10 to the second, +5 to the third. The highest total over all rounds wins the duel.
