Merrypond
A fish-feeding game around one shared pond: take turns dropping your food in front of a fish, and at Feeding Time every fish swims home to whoever fed it the most. Its favourite food counts double! Feed your own fish to grow them and raise babies — but the big points are in DIVERSITY: every new species is worth more than the one before. 15 species, 5 foods, 2–6 players; play with bots or friends.
Pond
Rules
- A shared pond sits in the middle: one fish swims at every feeding spot (two more spots than players)
- Every round everyone holds the SAME bowl — one of each food: algae, worm, flake, mulberry, plankton
- On your turn you drop ONE food: in front of a pond fish, or on one of your own aquarium species (its favourite only)
- Turns snake: one lap clockwise, the next lap back; the starting player changes every round
- When every bowl is empty it's FEEDING TIME: each fish eats the food in front of it and swims home to whoever fed it the MOST
- Pull: any food counts 1, the fish's FAVOURITE counts 2 — a Picky fish counts only its favourite, a Glutton needs a pull of at least 3
- A tie goes to the aquarium with FEWER fish; if that's tied too, the fish stays in the pond and grows a size
- If a fish you fed its favourite swims home with someone else, it leaves you a HEART
- Feeding your own species grows its smallest fish a size (baby → young → adult); if they're all adult, a BABY is born — a home feed also earns a heart
- Schooling fish arrive in pairs and the winner takes both · a Cleaner grows your smallest fish when it arrives · the Rainbowfish is worth +3
- SCORE: diversity (your 1st species is worth 1, the 2nd 2, the 3rd 3 …) + every fish's size (1/2/3) + hearts
- Five Tables: +5 if you own at least one species that loves each of the five foods
- After the last round the highest score wins; ties go to more species, then more hearts
- 6 rounds with 2–4 or 6 players, 5 rounds with 5; a room option plays one round shorter or longer
- If you disconnect a bot plays your seat; take it back when you return
How to play
- Each round your bowl holds 5 foods, one of each colour — the same for everyone
- On your turn drop one food in front of a pond fish or into your own aquarium
- When the bowls are empty it's Feeding Time: fish swim home with whoever fed them most
- After the last round the highest score wins
Feeding Time
- Any food is 1 pull, the fish's favourite is 2 — the favourite is shown above the fish
- A tie goes to the player with fewer fish; still tied, the fish stays and grows
- Feed a fish its favourite and lose it anyway — you still get a heart
- A fish that stays in the pond is bigger and worth more next round
Scoring
- Diversity: each new species is worth 1 more than the last (5 species = 1+2+3+4+5 = 15)
- Size: baby 1, young 2, adult 3 points
- Hearts: 1 point each · Five Tables: +5 · Rainbowfish: +3
Fish traits
- School (guppy, neon): arrive in pairs, both are won together
- Picky (seahorse, betta, discus): count only their favourite food
- Glutton (catfish, pufferfish): need a pull of at least 3, or stay and grow
- Cleaner (pleco): grows your smallest fish when it arrives
- Golden (rainbowfish): +3 points at the end
An Online Fish-Feeding Game — Drop Your Food, Win the Fish
Merrypond is a cheerful 2–6 player collection and bidding game: a fish swims at every feeding spot of a shared pond, and everyone takes turns dropping food in front of the fish they want. At Feeding Time each fish swims to the aquarium of the player who fed it most. No download — play instantly in your browser against bots or friends.
Every round everyone holds the same bowl: algae, worm, flake, mulberry and plankton. A fish's favourite food pulls double, picky fish count only their favourite, and gluttons won't budge until they're full. Deciding which fish gets how much of your food is the whole game.
Diversity Wins — Grow Your Aquarium Network
Most points come from diversity: every new species that joins your aquarium is worth one more point than the last and adds a new glass pod to your network. Feed your own fish their favourite food to grow them, and let the adults raise babies.
Even a lost fish isn't wasted: if a fish you fed its favourite swims home with someone else, it leaves you a heart. Ties go to the lonelier aquarium, so everyone stays in the race to the very end.
